4Drive India operates the website 4driveindia.com. Our office is located at Fontainhas, Panaji, India. We connect travellers with local vehicle rental operators across India. When you submit a booking, your reservation data moves from our platform to the rental company that provides the vehicle and issues the rental agreement.
We do not act as a data controller for the rental agreement itself. That relationship exists between you and the local rental operator. Their contact details appear in your booking voucher.
We gather information in three main ways. First, when you use our contact form or submit a review, you provide your name, email address, and any message text you type. Second, our web server automatically logs technical data: your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. Third, cookies and analytics scripts record session data and site usage patterns, described in the section below.
We do not collect payment card details directly. Card transactions for the booking advance occur through a secure payment gateway operated by our booking system provider. We receive only confirmation that payment succeeded, not the full card number.
When you complete a booking, you enter your name, email, phone number, pick-up and drop-off locations, dates, and any optional service requests such as child seats, GPS navigation, or additional driver registration. This information flows to our booking system, which generates a voucher and forwards your details to the local rental company.
The rental operator uses your data to prepare the vehicle, arrange collection at the agreed time and place, and draft the rental agreement you sign on collection. The operator becomes an independent data controller for the purposes of that agreement and any damage reports, insurance claims, or traffic fines tied to the rental period.
We retain a copy of booking records for operational support, customer service enquiries, and dispute resolution. Local rental companies store their own copies under their privacy policies.
Our website uses cookies to maintain session state, remember language preferences, and track conversion events. Analytics scripts measure visitor counts, page views, traffic sources, and browsing paths. These scripts may set third-party cookies. No personally identifiable information is sold to advertising networks.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may limit certain features, such as form pre-fill or session persistence across page reloads.
We use your information to process bookings, issue vouchers, answer enquiries submitted via the contact form, publish reviews you submit, send booking confirmations by email, and respond to support requests. If required by law, we may disclose data to government authorities, courts, or law enforcement agencies in response to valid legal requests. We will notify you of such disclosure unless prohibited by statute.
We keep booking records for three years from the rental end date to handle disputes, refund claims, and accounting obligations. Contact form submissions and reviews remain in our database until you request deletion. Server logs are rotated every ninety days. Cookies expire according to the durations set by our analytics provider, typically between one day and two years.
After the retention period ends, we delete or anonymise personal data so it can no longer identify you.
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, request deletion of your data where no legal obligation requires retention, and object to processing for specific purposes.
